As part of the activities marking the 10th Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku’Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, CFR, the Oba of Benin, we invite you to a special day dedicated to celebrating the richness, creativity and heritage of the Edo people. The day will feature a Food Festival, Arts & Photo Exhibition, Trade Fair, Skill Acquisition and Luncheon, bringing together culture, creativity, enterprise and community. The Edo people have a long and remarkable history of artistic excellence. From the world renowned Benin bronze and brass works to ivory carving, woodwork, beadwork and other traditional crafts, Edo art has always been a powerful expression of our history, identity and creativity. Our art tells stories of our people. It preserves memories of our past and reminds us of the skill and ingenuity passed down through generations. But Edo culture is not only about the art of yesterday. It is also about the creativity of today and the possibilities of tomorrow. This celebration will showcase the talents, businesses, skills, food and artistic expressions of our people, creating an opportunity to experience the many beautiful sides of Edo culture.
